Marco Galli, head of our Space Law & Economy focus team, participated in Olbia in the sixth session of the States General of the Space Economy, dedicated to In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) and the prospects for the emerging lunar economy.

In his presentation, Marco discussed the legal framework governing the use of extraterrestrial resources, focusing on the relationship between the Outer Space Treaty, the Artemis Accords, and the proposed EU Space Act.

The meeting, chaired by the Honorable Andrea Mascaretti, brought together institutions, the Italian Space Agency, the European Space Agency, industry, universities, and research centers, creating an opportunity for discussion on the technologies, expertise, and regulations essential to the development of the future Lunar Economy.
