Space Law
New routes for business, between Rome and Brussels
In the space of just a few days, Italy passed its Law on the Space Economy (June 13, No. 89) and the European Commission presented its Proposal for Regulations on Space.
Two separate but complementary pieces of legislation that introduce a clearer – and more stringent – framework for those involved in:
- In-orbit launches and control.
- Satellite management.
- Exploitation of space data and services.
What should companies in the sector do now?
- Check whether they fall under Italian obligations.
- Prepare for future European discipline.
- Adapt internal policies, contracts, insurance.
- Monitor timing and content of the EU proposal.
