Less than three years after the investment, private equity fund Equinox completes the sale of Salpa, active in the production and marketing of ice cream biscuits, granola, chocolate decorations, and gluten-free products for leading ice cream, yoghurt and confectionary multinationals.

Founded in 1934 by the Cherubini family, Salpa generates approximately €70m in turnover with €22m in EBITDA, confirming the Umbrian company’s solid growth trend that has doubled the size of its business in the last four years. Recognised globally for its unique and distinctive proprietary technology, Salpa has for many years been a partner to clients of the highest international standing, including multinationals in the ice cream and confectionary world.

The sale comes two and a half years after the Equinox fund entered the company’s capital, enabling the Cherubini family to strengthen the company’s governance and accelerate the international growth of the business.
