The ceremony took place on Tuesday 20 February 2024 in Parma in the context of the conference “The role, valorisation and payment of ecosystem services.”

Giuseppe Vignali, director of the Park, delivered the certificates giving  sustainability credits to 30 companies supporting the innovative project launched just two years ago in 2023.

In its second year of activity, the results are impressive on an environmental, social and economic perspective: from 8,300 hectares of certified forests in 2022 to 21,550 in 2023, thanks to the involvement of 30 forest managers (17 more than last year); from 4,000 sustainability credits generated in 2022 to 14,953 produced in 2023.

The economic value generated by the forests is distributed directly to the local communities (forest owners and managers) involved in their sustainable management.
